Level up your wax play with our 50-50 UV wax. The colours are bright enough to use in normal wax play but for extra effect, grab a black light (uv light) and see how it glows.
A lovely mix of 50% Soy and 50% Paraffin this is perfect for beginners.
What you’ll need:
- Heat source that can contain water (for example, electrical frying pan / bain-marie / pot)
- Suitable milk jug / container to melt wax in
- Water
- Teaspoon
- Protective covering (Drop sheets / black plastic bags / linen savers)
- Baby powder or fragrance-free coconut oil
- Spatula / comb / tool
- Paper towels
Prepare your play area:
- Place protective covering in play area
- Place wax in melting container
- Place container in heat source
- Add enough water to the heat source so that it covers about 2/3 of the wax container’s height
- Turn on the heat source and slowly increase the heat – NO boiling. Melting time depends on the amount of wax as well as the power of the heat source.
Precautions:
- Never move wax containers over the subject’s body as the hot waterdrops will burn them
- Always ensure that your subject is comfortable
- The wax container will be hotter than the wax (this keeps the wax melted)
During play
- Apply baby powder OR coconut oil to the subject’s skin
- Use a teaspoon to test the wax’s temperature on your wrist
- Drip the wax on thicker-skinned areas with the teaspoon (for example, forearms)
- Once your skill level improves, you can move to shoulders, lower back, legs, and other sensitive skin areas.
- Only do a direct pour from the jug if you and your subject are comfortable and if their body is accustomed to the heat
- If you are still new, pour over hardened wax
After play:
- Wait for wax to harden before removing with a spatula / comb / tool
- Unused wax in container can be stored and re-heated for future plays
- Used wax can be collected and used for fire starters
5 Cubes per packet – approximately 100g
